thumb_istock_000001776073smallWe assess our surroundings through our five senses.  But some senses play a bigger role, particularly, the sense of sight.
Scientists estimate that four-fifths of human memory results from visual stimulation.  We are visual creatures.  We notice how things look.

Put a little effort into how your party looks to make it memorable.  It doesn’t have to be expensive.

1. Dust off your wedding presents and look through your cupboards.  If it’s taking up space, you might as well use it

2. It’s easy to combine objects with a similar textural message.  Formal textures have a shiny or smooth surface quality e.g. china, silver, pewter, glass, crystal, and tightly woven fabrics with sheen.  It’s easy to mix formal objects. Tactile textures have a rougher surface quality.  These are often things found in nature - wood, twigs, stone, and leather.  These types of objects mix easily in table decorations.

3. Try to use things you already own.  Use old objects in new ways.  I shortened my young son’s old belts to make unique napkin rings.
