Getting touched by other’s stories – In honor of Dr Ellice Hammond by Christieb
 babyreachingformother (small)

I was so encouraged to see the way the community had got around the father and baby daughter of the late Dr Ellice Hammond after she gave up her chance to combat cancer in order for her little baby girl to be born. Just when you see so many things overlooked and forgotten, it was wonderful to see such a touch of generosity and love towards this family.

Whilst it will not take away the pain and loss it must certainly touch their hearts to see what an impact this young woman’s choices have had on a whole community.

I did not know this lady and have only read about her story, but I know her little girl will reap what she has sown ... love, generosity and big heartedness beyond comprehension.

I have been so touched by this story and I know others have too. Maybe someone has impacted your life or done something sacrificial ... we'd love to hear your story...

By chance I came across your story. I knew Ellice quite well. She was my doctor and my confidante. The ultimate gift she gave for her daughter is of no surprise to me or those who knew her. She was an angel on earth as sure as she is an angel in heaven. I say a blessing for her each day and miss her energy, passion and love. Through my own loss and sadness Ellice guided me through with love and care. I miss her. Thank you for your words.

I have not yet had the opportunity to read about the sacrifice made by this amazing women, but I will be now making the effort to do so. But what I do know is this, I too would give my unborn child the right to live if my life was going to be cut short by cancer. I'm sure this little girl will reap many rewards in her life by her mother's sacrifice and her father's will to help her cope, along with many other people who will not only cross her path but help her out as she grows. She will never know what it is like to never be loved and very much wanted, I'm sure.
