Introducing Bella 2007/05/04 23:45
Ciao tutti! I'm so new to this whole blogging, chat thing, it's so cool. I'm a gal who loves to write, travel and cook yummy food. My background's Italian so I can boast that I have an awesome Mamma who has taught me to cook. Aside from working a lot, and studying too, I love the beach just as much as I do smelling plane fuel. My friends and family mean the world to me. If you are wondering what the soccer ball is all about, I'm not into sport that much but if I had to choose between soccer and aussie rules, soccer wins it by far! Look forward to chatting to you all more.

Hey Bella, you sound really cool, how are you? You must have some engish in your genes too, to like soccer. I must admit, I do prefer soccer over aussie rules as well. I used to know a guy who was italian and your mum sounds just like his, the best cook
ever and there was always soooooo much food, all the time. What are you studying?

Hi Rubyleeangel - great to hear from you! Yes, Italians don't know what starvation is... there is always ample food, if we have four for dinner, we always cook for 8! Soccer has way more skill than aussie rules that I can tell ... woh, I might start a huge argument here. I got hooked on it, when I was overseas when the world cup was on in 1994 and 1998. Europeans so get into their sport and they take it to the streets, heaps of fun. I'm studying theology part time which I'm loving, although finding a bit challenging this semester... the balancing thing you know.
Look forward to speaking to you more. What are the ages of your kids?

Hey Bella, theology....hmmm I'm thinking thats probably Bibical theology ? yes, no? The balancing thing does get
awkward sometimes doesn't it, especially when you have to
spend time digesting hard topics and getting your head
around certain things sometimes when your studying. I think
theology may be like that when there are several points of
view to consider on one aspect. Putting it down and doing
something else for a while helps, reflect, then go back
to it. I am doing that right now with a fieldstudy report
that I am working on. In answer to your question, my oldest
daughter is 24 with two children, a boy two and a half and
a girl 4 months old. My second child, a son was a SIDS baby
back in 1984, and my youngest daughter is 15. I was very
young when I had my first, 20 when she was born. It's hard
being a young grandma though because you are not in the
retired grandma role and cannot put in that sort of time.
It's just not possible, and family members don't always
understand. Anyway, what theological question are you
working on right now?

Welcome Bella and nice to meet you. I can relate to your comment about the cooking. We have a family of 5 daughters and I'm used to cooking for that many. These days there is only 1 at home and I struggle to remember to cut down on what I buy and the quantities I cook so there's always lots of leftovers for lunches in the week.

Rubyleeangel, I also had a SIDS baby, my only boy and it was back in 1979. I have 5 daughters, 26, 25, 23, 22 and 20. The eldest and youngest are married, no kids yet and we're not rushing them as that means we would also be grandparents who are still working and doing things that wouldn't fit the 'retired grandparent' lifestyle. Our number two is in Japan tutoring English, number three lives not far from us and is doing her final year in Hons at Uni and number four is home temporarily working at two local horse riding schools. She's off to South Africa in a couple of weeks to work on a horse stud there for awhile.

Hello fellow Kathie, we have the best name don't we? It sounds
like we have some things in common. I put a post under Christies
"late term miscarraige" yesterday in relation to her request
for anybody who had lost a child to share their experience in
order to help someone else. I don't what your experience was
like in relation to that, is it something that you share, or is
it a very private thing? You don't have to answer that if you
don't want to. I commend you on the obvious hard work that you
have done over the years with your family, to have put so much
into them and see them succeed is a wonderful thing. I bet
you have some stories to tell though. Dooooo Tell Pleeeeze,
we need a good laugh right now. Look forward to getting to know you.
Bye for now. Rubyleeangel.

PS...the grandma thing hmmmmm, takes a bit of getting used to.
You'd think someone would come up with a better name than
Grandma, we will have to work on that one hey.
