I think our choices are steered by who we listen to. When I was a teenager my closest friend told me if I had a gut feeling about something that I was about to do, then I should follow that feeling and trust it.
When I was overseas travelling as a 20 something, exploring the world and all it had to offer me, this piece of advice really helped me. A couple of times however, I decided to throw caution to the wind and not follow that small voice that said 'don't'. As a result I've been hurt and burnt.
We make choices by who we choose to listen to or not. Aside from our parents, friends, colleagues, I truly believe there is a still small voice that trys to help us make the very best choices for our life. I'm not talking about the obvious ones where you can blatantly tell right from wrong, I mean the ones where two roads look good and you can't tell which to travel. Still small voices are a gift I believe for everyone, we just need to explore and listen to it more often.
Does anyone have an example of a still small voice helping them at a particular time?

When I was a kid I used to have a bad temper when I heard a person talk about a little voice and a siren that when off in the head when I got angry. I decided to listen to the voice and deal with the anger. That person....was my Dad and he helped me a lot to deal with me getting angry.

I find that it is exactly when there are two good choices that I need to hear the still small voice. I will ask the question...what is "good" and what is "best"? or what is "good" and what is "great"? there is quite a difference. you see I believe that there are so many things that can distract us from our true assignments in life and so we need to listen to that still small voice very very carefully...there is only one life and I want to get it right...
