I have to confess I feel sorry for blokes. There are so many labels we give guys these days. Everything from SNAG, Lad, Yobbo, Bogan to Metrosexual, Retrosexual and now EMO. (see wikipedia.com for the definitions)

It’s every marketer’s responsibility to typecast and pigeon hole people, but the fact is can’t a bloke be a Yobbo who likes clothes and is sensitive to other people’s emotions? Why do we need to label a guy just because he irons his own shirts or cleans the loo? I find blokes themselves are the harshest critics. Gaining acceptance from your mates is essential it seems. It may even stop him from doing something that he could enjoy because he doesn’t want it to threaten his manhood. I’d love to hear from guys who are comfortable in their skin and those who aren’t on this issue. I find girls can be more expressive in who they are without some label placed over them. What do you think?

As a guy I am absolutely sick to death of advertisments depicting men as complete morons that don't have a clue how to cook, play with the kids, enjoy life or manage the finances. Marketers are having a field day at the expense of guys.

I like to be romantic, have a good cry watching "Anne of Greengables". I also like Aliens and playing footy or slumming it in 5 start accommodation. Like girls, guys are complicated being too and it should be no surprise that girls don't fully understand guys just like guys don't fully understand girls. Can I suggest that we can be just who we are and be happy with it.
