Providence 2007/05/21 14:47
This isn't writing on paper, its on a quilt that I made
called "Providence", for the Centenary of Federation back
in 2001. You can see it at the following website along with
the others that were chosen along with mine from the whole
of Australia.

www.canberraquilters.org.au/celebration

"Providence" is under the Australian History section.

I couldn't find the link to your quilt. Can you post the direct link please. I'd love to see it. When we were in the USA we purchased an Amish quilt which is now on our bed.

Try the following link to go straight to my quilt, on the
other link click to enter the site, scroll down to the
bottom of the page explaining the exhibition, then click in
the place at the bottom of the page to see a small version of
all the quilts, then click on the one you want to look at and
a large version of it comes up.

Amish quilts are exquisite, the needlework beyond compare
to the likes of us, they are very talented.

Oh well done whizzbang, you got the right link, thanks. I am
glad you all like it. It took 8 months to make, working on it
about 4 hours a day. I was a full time housewife at the time
so I had nothing else to do except school my daughter, keep
house and be creative. I love to quilt and embroider, and I
have a design in my heart for a celtic quilt, probably with
something from the Book Of Kells on it. The illuminated
manuscripts are a source of much creative inspiration for me,
they are so beautiful. It will have to wait until though
until I have more time maybe next year sometime.
