I like your motto, you have a great view on life and how to get the most out of it.

I have to say that time would have to be one of my favourite topics. Time really is a the great equalizer!! we all got the same amount. What separates the good from the great is how we choose to spend it. My motto on time is "Make it Count!!" I try to make sure that all my time counts for something, whether it be working, resting or playing. I just want to make sure at the very end I used it all up and didn't wast a second.

I totally love what you guys are saying...and for me the pendulum can swing both ways...I can burn the candle at both ends for a while and then I will need to do a big catch up sleep.
a good friend of mine said to me once when I was in Africa"SLeep til you wake and call me when you get up" what a novel idea I thought...actually sleeping until my body not some alarm woke me up...and so I did ...and I felt absolutely great.

sometimes I think we drive ourselves too hard and then even though we put our time into things we are not putting our energy into it...here is where kids coem to the forfront...they know when you are "in it" or not...

I would rather spend a shorter time with someone or doing something and be really "there" than spend a long time and only half do it...

I also don't like "feeling" as if I am wasting time...it is such a precious commodity...you never get it back..

What a great discussion!
Here's what I've found works for a typical day with me.
7:30am Awake
8:30am At PC working
5:30pm Stop work and play a game/read a book - anything but work.
6-10pm Family
10-2am Work and sometimes (rarely) relax

I RARELY work on the weekends....in fact, I hate doing any sort of work on the weekends.

After many years working from home for myself I've found my schedule works really well for me. The worse thing that can happen to me is getting too much sleep during the week...it nearly kills me. LOL!

2am! I just got asked yesterday by a well known blogger if I could maintain his moderated comments during his PST time night which amounted to 1am Melbourne time. I had to knock it back - I'm always in bed by 11.30pm. But I would have loved to do it, especially with the profile he has in that field and I'm working hard to get known as a blogger. But I have referred it to my team and hopefully one of them will assist him during the hours he needs support. At least that way I can maintain some kind of connection.

We're awake at 5.45am here weekdays and usually between 7.00am and 8.00am weekends so don't sleep in very often. I like to 'play' on the weekends - that usually means writing articles for publications and blogging. I'm also working on a book at the moment. The kids are grown so do their own thing now and Gray's always out riding on the weekends with his mate Dave. I enjoy being able to write without interruption so that works well for me.

But this weekend we're both taking off. The girls gave us a B&B voucher for Christmas and so we're making use of it and won't be around at all. We'll go for walks, browse through shops, visit cafes and restaurants and catch up with some movies on DVD. For us that's almost heaven on earth!
