| A poem 2007/06/01 05:37 |

I watched the sunset, praying the beauty would tell me who I was But I was left alone, in a lonely place So I gazed into the fire, hoping the flames would tell me who I was But I was left alone with cold hands and a hot face I stared at my hands, begging the lines to foretell who I was But I was left alone with bleeding palms So I dreamed into the eyes of my lover, needing to be told who I was And I was left alone, a psalmist without a psalm I watched the stars that starry night, pleading with them to tell me who I was But I was left alone, with cataract eyes So I searched my own heart, to be told who I was, But I was left alone, the maker of my own demise I looked upon the face of my creator, not expecting to find who I was And I was left alone, with thoughts to subdue That night I cried upon the foot of the cross, knowing I had found who I was Myself, who I knew.

Yip, years ago, as a teenager. Only found it the other day, remembered that significant moment that I wrote it, thought it would be nice to share!
