My Favourites. 2007/05/21 12:02
I love Jane Austin's writing, and constantly have the DVD
versions playing when I am at home. My favourites are Sense
and Sensibility, Pride & Predjudice, and there is a new movie
out called "Becoming Jane", ohhh it's so sad, I cried.
Anyway, in Sense and Sensibility, the DVD, there are quotes
of poetry from Shakespeare and Edmund Spencer that are just
beautiful. Here is a sample from Shakespeare's Sonnet 116:

Let me not to the marraige of true minds
Impediments admit
Love is not love
That alters as the alteration finds
Or bends with the remover to remove
Oh no, it is an everfixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken

(hope I quoted that accurately)

It's just the most beautiful sonnet.

LOL! I think that you'd get along really well with my wife! She loves Jane Austin....personally it drives me crazy. I've tried to sit down and watch it but just couldn't get into it.

Oh whizzbang, your wife definitely has taste, and I think
she must be a romantic as well. Lots of us gals are. I must
admit that Jane Austins appeal is probably more evident in
us female of the species, but that is because she captures
so well the heart of the woman in society. Jane captures the
essence of that which appeals to the female heart in the
romantic sense while highlighting the inconsistancies and
hipocrases of her times so well, and her own life story gave
her the ability to write from her heart and experience. The
appeal to the sensitive soul is irristible. Face it whizzbang,
you will have to get in touch with your feminine side, lol,
lol .

LOL! I'll do my best Ruby!
I really must expand my movie repetoir beyond those with a high body count....just kidding. I love seeing a great movie and the atmosphere of sitting in the dark watching a screen is electrifying. The problem is that Jane Austin is just sooooo......Jane Austin. Mr Darcy should just have come out and say that he loved the girl and if I see a moaning mother who acts completely of the top one more time I'll scream. LOL!

Now....I liked Pretty Women and Kate and Leopold...they were great romantic comedies. Then again....the series depicting the klingon wedding was a real highlight.

unchartered planet in startrek, and its just not working for
me, ow my stomach is hurting from laughing. Ok, am composing
myself..........I think you think Mr Darcy needs reinventing
.......no, cant do that, where would the pride be?..we would
have to rename the story...maybe you could get Captain Kirk
to give him a few tips?

What do you think?
