Maternity clothes 2007/06/26 02:08
Hi Ladies,

I have been searching high and low for maternity clothes that don't look like they were made in 1978 and don't cost a fortune. The majority of clothes are either way too expensive or too formal. Does anyone know where I can get casual, relaxed tops for a reasonable price in Melbourne?

Thanks.

Hi Scooter
Great to hear from you! My friend .. gorgeous girl is currently 20 weeks pregnant and she swears by Big W in Melbourne. She's always dressed gorgeously and has managed to find some outfits that don't look daggy ... if you know what I mean.
By the way how did you come to the name Scooter.. is that a nickname?

Yip, some of it is disgusting! Eek... When I was pregnant with my kidos, I wore loads of shorts and tracksuits with elastic. Which is a bargin is you are able to wear them again. There is nothing more stunning than a pregnant woman who wear clothes that you can see their tummy. Also baggyish tops (like swing tops) which you are also able to wear again afterwards. It all depends on your season. Here in SA Mr Price have a maternity section with up to date maternity wear. You can also use bigish safty pins for your jeans etc. What you do is, but the pin through the one side, then go through the eye of the zip and then through the other side of the jeans and close the safty pin. Wolla! Then you wear a top that is long enough to cover the front.

Target, Liz Lange makes the cutest stuff and they are usually very inexpensive. Also if you live near an outlet mall Motherhood outlet is much cheaper than the regular store. Also try ebay, since maternity clothes aren't usually worn for that long you can find adorable clothes at super cheap, good luck
