G'Day from the land down under! 2007/06/27 20:30
Hi everyone- my name is Maureen & I live in a small rural town in Australia on the east coast. Compared to some places, the weather here is quite mild, but today it doesn't seem that way to me!. I am married, with 2 grown married kids (they always stay kids don't they?) & 2 absolutely wonderful innocent grandbabies. Our girl Ashleigh is 4 with a mind of a ten year old, and our gorgeous little boy Hayden, is 2 in July, 25th, the day before my birthday.
It is a wonderful thing being a nanna, even though they live 7 hrs away, with my son Damian & his wife so we only get to see them a few times a year. About the same as our newly married daughter, Stacey, who lives in another state, making it a 2 day trip to visit her unless we fly there.
My hubby is a builder, and I am in admin, although I will probably be made redundant in the coming weeks. this has been coming for aver a year, since our national telco was sold off to private enterprise.
It's always good to meet new people & I am new to the forum arena, so bear with me please? Hope to hear from any one looking for new friends- maybe anyone with patchwork/quilting as a hobby, reading or maybe someone from another country we could swap tales.

*sighs* yes I agree with you about how these shows effect others especially young ones starting out in this "brave" world. I dont see all guys doing this. I date men with respect for me and themselves. I'm actually getting better at filtering the different types out...lol

But then we can go further and say magazines with tooth pick sizes are being bought and read by young girls....and rap music about gangsters and....all those other topics that got pointed out more than ever after Don's job loss. People that produce this garbage get too wrapped into it to realize theres still future generations being formed after them.
